The symptoms people and/or pets could experience if consuming the water without boiling would be gastrointestinal problems, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain. The break was isolated and is being repaired. This morning, an East Lansing Meridian Water and Sewer Authority (ELMWSA) water supply main break was discovered at the northwest corner of Haslett Road and Park Lake Drive. See map below for the affected areas outlined in red. Meridian Township officials are issuing a boil water advisory for 48 hours beginning at 10:00 am Thursday, June 23 through at least 10:00 am Saturday, June 25 for all ELMWSA customers in the north pressure zone. NEW MAP: Boil Water Advisory Affected Areas Map - JUpdated 5:30 pm These customers are on the City of East Lansing’s water distribution system and were not impacted by the water main break on the Township’s water distribution system. UPDATE 6/23/22 5:45 pm: Water customers in the northwest corner of Meridian Township highlighted in blue on the revised map (linked below) are no longer on a boil water advisory. UPDATE 12:39 pm: The boil water advisory that went into effect yesterday will be extended to 5:30 pm Saturday, June 25 for the water customers identified in the North Pressure Zone as outlined in red on the map linked below.
